Sir Nick Faldo is one of the greatest European golfers to have played the game. To give back to the game of golf, Sir Nick created the Faldo Series in 1996, a charity aimed at “raising the profile of golf around the world.” Each year, there are more than 40 tournaments in 31 countries through Europe, Asia and South America! Today, it was announced by the Greenbrier that the Faldo series will move to America!
The Faldo Series is catered towards boys and girls between the ages of 12 to 21. Through each tournament, competitors will get a chance to qualify for either the Faldo Series Europe Grand Final in Ireland or the Faldo Series Asia Grand Final in China! And of course, Sir Nick will be there to host it! Past winners of the Faldo Series have included Rory McIlroy and Yani Tseng. However, this October, the Faldo Series Final will move to The Greenbrier in West Virginia, USA!
In addition to hosting the Faldo Series Final, The Greenbrier will also be home to the new “Faldo Golf Center.” This instruction center will be based on Sir Nick’s teaching theory “A Swing of Life,” and he will continue to grow the game of golf in his first residential academy in America with the Faldo Series Academy in Casa Grande, Arizona!
