Munsingwear Golf Spring/Summer 2013

A couple of weeks ago, we brought to you a great article by the Wall Street Journal about the Fashion Evolution in Golf. We’ve also featured many Spring/Summer collections by brands such as Aquascutum Golf for Bentley, J. Lindeberg, Callaway Apparel Japan, IJP Designs and Boss Green. In this post, we’re going to be featuring the iconic Munsingwear Original Penguin golf shirt and their spring/summer 2013 collection. We’ve seen their autumn/winter 2012 collection earlier this year as well!

The Munsingwear golf shirt was born in 1955 and fashion forward for it’s time – casual, comfortable and equally at home on or off the golf course. From the moment it debuted, it was a must-have for the era’s most iconic celebrities: Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Arnold Palmer and more. For a long while, the Munsingwear golf shirt was the shirt of choice for many of the fashion conscious golfers. Over the past couple of years, the company’s classic designs have regained popularity and catapulted back into the fashion trends with young golfers – the designs have been reworked to reflect today’s trends and lifestyle while keeping a retro feel.

Similar to Callaway Apparel, Munsingwear Japan is owned by a licensee. LPGA professional Mika Miyazato is one of their touring staff that wears Munsingwear. Three different lines of golf wear are offered by Munsingwear Japan: the Munsingwear R Line, One Thing by Munsingwear and the Munsingwear Trident. In addition to keeping the classic American style as a foundation, the company also takes risks in offering even more colorful and fashion forward items for their customers. You can view their full catalog for all three lines of clothing here! They also offer some great golf equipment such as bags, headcovers and accessories with a full catalog here!
