Before the New Year, we introduced part 6 of the Mizuno Yoro Japan crafted program. Part 6 was the beginning of actually finishing up these custom Mizuno irons and wedges – the club heads are starting to get their finishes and custom stamping. In part 7, Mizuno Technicians continue on their path to completing these custom clubs.
After the head is completed, Mizuno Technicians build the rest of the club by putting together the shafts and grips (which can be customized by the customer as well!). Mizuno shafts are preferred to ensure quality control, however, if the shafts you choose do come from outside of the Mizuno factory, there is a very stringent check system to ensure that these shafts will not impair the quality of the Mizuno clubs.
After the shafts are cut to the exact specified length, the grip is attached. This is all done before attaching the club head to the shaft/grip. This is to ensure each club will be completely balanced. If the clubhead is put on before the grip, there is a chance that the balance of the club will collapse under the weight of the grip. Each club is balanced perfectly by Mizuno Technicians.
