Lydia Ko turned professional last week in a very creative way – through a YouTube video filmed with All Blacks star Israel Dagg! At 16 years old, she is already ranked fifth in the world with several big tournament victories! And today, the LPGA Tour has waived its 18 year old age requirement for her, allowing Ko to join the LPGA Tour for the start of the 2014 season!
Ko was the youngest ever player to win a professional event when she claimed the New South Wales in 2012. She also won the CN Canadian Women’s Open twice, won the New Zealand Women’s Open and finished second at the Evian Masters. She will make her first professional event debut in November at the LPGA Titleholders.
