Taylormade’s new SLDR driver is focused on “Lofting Up” this year and Tiger Woods’ ex-coach Hank Haney, who has since moved on from Nike, gives his views on the “Loft Up” concept! Over the years, manufacturers’ have placed the importance of gaining more distance in its new equipment each year. With the low forward CG of the SLDR drivers, this produces a high launch with a low spin rate, hence allowing the club to have a higher loft and in turn, eliminating the big miss and ensure more accuracy! Although this sounds like Hank Haney is marketing Taylormade rather than giving his own feedback, it does have its logic and the only way to find out if this works is to test the clubs out yourself!
