The growth of golf the past few years has been tremendous, as proven by the number of young phenoms who are making their way onto the professional tours these days. From Guan TianLang to Lydia Ko, it seems like kids are getting younger and younger when they make their professional debuts! The growth of golf in China has been well documented but here in North America, PGA teaching professional Brendon Elliott is doing his part to grow the game through his Little Linksters program!
This year, Little Linkster will host their fourth annual “Best Pee Wee Golf Swing in the World” contest! Through this contest, Brendon Elliott hopes to get golf clubs in kids’ hands and let them see how fun golf is! This is just one initiative to get kids interested in golf at a young age, which will be very important to the growth of the game. There are a few age groups in this contest, including a newly added “Under 3” age group. If you think that’s too young, don’t forget about the 3 year old prodigy who might end up being the next Rory McIlroy! Among the panel of judges are the Black Knight, Gary Player, and Frank Nobilo and Holly Sonders of the Golf Channel! If you want to find out more about the contest and how to enter, check out the Little Linkster website!
