We’ve seen golfer’s involved with the NFL before – remember Phil Mickelson on Monday Night Football? And even football players getting involved with the sport of golf! This past week, Jim Furyk joined the fun and was part of a half time show when the Jacksonville Jaguars took on the Buffalo Bills.
You might remember Jim Furyk’s amazing wedge shot during the BMW Championship at Conway Farms Golf Club to shoot a 59. His wedge game was put to the test again on Sunday as he took part in a closest-to-the-pin contest against the Jacksonville Jaguars’ mascot, Jaxson de Ville. From high atop the Sky Patio, Furyk was faced with a 125-yard wedge shot, but it sailed long and left of the island green. Jaxson then stepped up and hit a great approach just below the hole to beat Furyk! It was all for a good cause though – the Jaguars Foundation will make a $1,000 donation to the Jim and Tabitha Furyk Foundation and every fan in attendance also received a free order of Papa John’s cheesesticks!
This wasn’t Furyk and Jaxon de Ville’s first meeting though! Last year, Jaxson was also at the par-3 17th hole at TPC Sawgrass showing off his swing – take a look below! We’ve seen many PGA Tour players involved with other sports recently, including Luke Donald with the Chicago Blackhawks and Jason Day with the Columbus Blue Jackets!
