Henrik Stenson Joins Callaway Golf

Henrik Stenson Callaway Golf

Callaway Golf has been trying to rebrand itself for the past year or so, signing younger players such as Ryo Ishikawa and long drive champion, Jamie Sadlowski. Although they’ve recently lost one of the most recognizable names in golf, Ernie Els, to Adams Golf, Callaway Golf has just announced they’ve partnered with one of the best players in the game today – Henrik Stenson.

Henrik Stenson wins the TOUR Championship and FedEx Cup

Henrik Stenson has had an amazing 2013 season. His game really started to pick up in March where he finished second at the Shell Houston Open. He then finished 5th at The Players Championship, 3rd at the Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open, 2nd at The Open Championship at Muirfield, 2nd at the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational and 3rd in the PGA Championship. He would finally break through for two wins during the FedEx Cup Playoffs (Deutsche Bank and TOUR Championship) was enough for him to capture the FedEx Cup and the $10 million bonus!

But he wasn’t done yet, Stenson then went on to compete in China for the BMW Masters and WGC-HSBC Champions. He continued his strong play and by the end of his season, he not only won the TOUR Championship and FedEx Cup but also the DP World Tour Championship in Dubai and the European Tour’s Race to Dubai, becoming the first player ever to accomplish that feat! With such a spectacular season, no wonder he was named the European Golfer of the Year!

Unlike most players on Tour though, Stenson had a variable approach to his equipment and did not stuck to just one company. Throughout his season, he played with a variety of clubs from different manufacturers, including Callaway. But it was the Callaway Japan line of Legacy Black irons that he played. Here’s a list of what was in his bag for the 2013 season and we can’t wait to see what he’ll be playing in 2014! We’re guessing he’ll be adding one of the new Callaway Big Bertha drivers in his bag and maybe even one of the Speed Regime golf balls!
