Footjoy is the number one shoe in golf and offers some of the most innovative products. Last year, they introduced the Footjoy M:Project golf shoes that were lightweight, low the ground and built in a minimalist style. For 2014, they are introducing the Footjoy DNA, or “Dryjoys Next Advancement” golf shoes – and they look great!
With more athletic golfers and golf more of a sport than ever, companies are building their products with the athlete in mind. The SnugFit tongue is designed with materials and varying densities to conform to the top of your foot – this provides a better fit, comfort and protection with MicroVent technology to enhance breathability. The 3D foam collar wraps around and molds to the shape of your ankle for even better comfort, fit and support. This will eliminate any movement of the foot inside the shoe during a golf swing.
As it is part of the Dryjoy line, the Footjoy DNA is completely waterproof. The shoe utilizes an all new ChromoSkin Leather System by Pittards featuring full grain leather that is supple, lightweight, thin, yet durable. Again, promoting an upper that will conform to your foot for a custom fit. Footjoy’s new cushioning material, the Fine-Tuned Foam (FTF), is used throughout the interior midsole of the show (the FitBed). A firmer FTF was used around the perimeter of the FitBed for stability, but a softer FTF was used in the heel and forefoot for cushioning and comfort. Finally, the new NitroThin TPU (thermoplastic urethane) outsole is a thin, yet provides lightweight stability and performance without sacrificing flexibility and feel.
Overall, there is a lot of technology built into the shoe and the low profile, clean, sporty look of it really impresses us – we’ll have to try it on soon and see how it performs!
