East Lake Golf Club with Jordan Spieth

Jordan Spieth has had one heck of a rookie season so far on the PGA TOUR, one that puts him in contention for the PGA Rookie of the Year Award! After a strong collegiate and amateur career with the University of Texas, Spieth turned professional in December 2012 at the age of 19. Spieth started his professional career by missing the cut at the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines, but refocused and ended up finished T2 at the Puerto Rico Open and T7 at the Tampa Bay Championship. He also finished T9 at the RBC Heritage.

Spieth would win his first PGA TOUR event at the John Deere Classic in a three-way, sudden-death playoff against defending championship Zach Johnson and David Hearn, becoming the fourth youngest PGA TOUR winner! The victory gave Spieth full status as a PGA TOUR member, made him eligible for the FedEx Cup (putting him in 11th place) and earned him entry into the next three majors: the 2013 Open Championship, PGA Championship and 2014 Masters. A couple weeks later, Spieth was knocking on the winner’s door again, nearly recording his second victory at the Wyndham Championship where he lost in a playoff. Spieth then shot a final round 62 at the Deutsche Bank Championship to finish T4.

The cherry on top of his season so far though was being a Captain’s Pick for the 2013 President’s Cup match coming up in a few weeks! We can’t wait to see how his game stands up against the pressure of a President’s Cup! Hear from Jordan Spieth himself as he takes us on a walk through East Lake Golf Club, site of the 2013 TOUR Championship, and discusses the season he’s had so far!
