This week, we take our Course of the Week out to the Canadian Rockies! Located just an hour away from Calgary and Banff, Kananaskis Country Golf Club is surrounded by mountains towering over 10,000 feet (3,000 metres) above sea level, providing an unforgettable backdrop to your golfing experience. There are two courses at Kananaskis Country Golf Club, Mount Lorette and Mount Kidd Courses. These courses were “named for the soaring limestone peaks that serve as their breathtaking backdrop.” Situated in the Kananaskis Valley among boreal forest, the courses are characterized by their immaculate lush fairways, bent grass greens and over 140 silica sand bunkers. There are also four sets of tee boxes, allowing golfers of all skill levels to test their game in this amazing environment. Where else can you find a golf course surrounded by glacier fed creeks and ponds, the cascading Kananaskis River and a variety of wildlife? Parts of Bourne Legacy were also filmed near Kananaskis Country Golf Club, and the staff were fortunate enough to capture some pictures of the wolves who starred in the movie!
