It’s the first weekend in August and with a new month comes a new provincial Course of the Week feature! This month, we’re moving east again to Newfoundland and Labrador, where Canada meets the North Atlantic Ocean. This week, we’re featuring one of the best public courses in the province – The River Course at Humber Valley Resort.
The River Course is an 18-Hole, par 72 championship golf course, designed by Canadian Golf architect, Doug Carrick, and measures up to 7,199 yards. The course offers dramatic views over the Humber Valley, including Deer Lake and the Humber River. The layout of the course flows seamlessly with it’s surrounding environment – there is gently rolling terrain, generous fairways and undulating greens that give golfers a welcome challenge, yet also providing an enjoyable experience to beginners. Several holes are played alongside the Humber River and on the shores of Deer Lake. Several natural ponds and streams also come into play throughout the course. As you can see from the photos, this is one seriously gorgeous golf course! Hope we can make our way across Canada one day and spend some time in the Maritimes to play golf. Here are some of the awards that the River Course has won until today:
