Last week, we featured Glen Abbey Golf Course in our Course of the Week, Canadian Province feature. This week, we’re staying in Ontario and featuring a golf club that has hosted many professional events. Angus Glen Golf Club, in Markham, Ontario, has been host of some of Canada’s most prestigious events, including the 2001 BMO Canadian Women’s Open, 2001 TELUS Skins Game, 2002 Bell Canadian Open and the 2007 Canadian Open. The 2007 Canadian Open was the year Jim Furyk out duelled Vijay Singh to win the championship on the club’s North course. The golf club is offers two spectacular championship courses, named the North and South course.
In addition to hosting PGA Tour events, both North and South courses are open to the public, though the South is the more decorated and architecturally significant. The South and North course plays up to 7400 yards from the Canadian Open tees, but can play as little as 6100 yards.
