There has been a lot of new equipment releases over the past couple of weeks, both from North American and Japanese companies. We’ve recently featured the Cobra BiO Cell and BiO Cell+ Drivers, successors of their AMP Cell drivers. Today, you’ll get to hear from Cobra themselves in the videos below as they explain the new technologies in the BiO Cell and BiO Cell+ drivers.
BiO Cell Driver
The 460CC BiO Cell driver improves on the AMP design. It has an even thinner crown, shaving a few more grams from the top of the club and created a weight-reducing technology that resembles a honeycomb (the BiO Cell). It is made of all titanium, features adjustability and available in 5 different colours. You can adjust the BiO Cell driver to eight different settings (MyFly8) to maximize distance and manage your trajectory. Loft settings include: 9.0° / 9.5°, 9.5°D / 10.5° / 10.5°D / 11.5° / 11.5°D / 12.0°. The BiO Cell technology is also combined with E9 Face Technology which removes weight from the face and repositions it lower and towards the back heel to deliver a higher Motion of Inertia (MOI) and slight draw bias shots. This provides a larger effective Sweet Zone and longer, straighter drives on off-centre hits. The shaft is 45.75 inches.
BiO Cell+ Driver
For players that have too much spin on their drives, the BiO Cell+ driver might be right for you! With advanced multi-material construction and MyFly8 adjustable loft technology, you’ll be able to maximize the club for your swing. The MyFly8 adjustable hosel also offers a range of loft settings: 8.0° / 8.5° / 8.5°D / 9.5° / 9.5°D / 10.5° / 10.5°D / 11.0°. Similar to the BiO Cell driver, the E9 Face Technology has been utilized to remove weight from the face and reposition it lower and more towards the heel for more forgiveness on mishits and off centre hits. The multi-material construction features a Venollum alloy crown which reduces weight to deliver an even lower Centre of Gravity, providing higher ball flights with lower back spin for longer distances. The BiO Cell+ is a 440CC head 45.25 inch shaft.
