The RE/MAX World Long Drive Championship concludes on October 30th in Las Vegas. This year, Callaway has partnered up with the LDA (Long Drivers of America) and is supplying the Callaway X Hot Long Drive team with their special long drive drivers! Before the final championship, Callaway’s Matt Haneline caught up with Callaway X Hot Long Drive team member Jeff “Far Out” Farley, to discuss how long drive drivers are different from regular drivers!
Another Callaway X Hot Long Drive team member, Jamie Sadlowski is more well known, as he prepares for the championship. With Jamie breaking his second simulator on the Golf Channel in recent memory, one has to think that Jamie is in tip top shape going into the final round! Of course, Jamie will also be using the X Hot driver in the competition and the specs was released earlier today, with a 5.1° loft, HOF 59 XX flex shaft tipped 1″, measuring 50″ from top to bottom!
The specs on Jamie’s driver is definitely a lot different than the specs that you would find on the PGA or European Tour but watch what Jeff “Far Out” Farley says about that in the video above! These long driver competitors has clubhead speed and ball speed that’s way above the Tour average. For comparison, check out Ian Poulter’s trackman sessions to the numbers that Jeff throws out for his own swing! With those numbers and the Callaway X Hot technology, we’re expecting huge numbers on October 30th in Las Vegas! As seen in our tweet below, we can attest that the Callaway X Hot is LONG!
