Callaway Speed Regime Golf Balls

Callaway has released much of their 2014 equipment line up over the past couple of months including the Mack Daddy 2 wedges, Apex Irons, Apex Pro Irons, the X2 Hot line of equipment and most recently, the Big Bertha and Big Bertha Alpha drivers. To go along with all this new equipment, Callaway has also introduced a new line of golf balls – the Speed Regimes.

The Speed Regime family consists of three unique golf balls. The SR1 is a four-piece golf ball (multilayer, duraspin urethane cover with a dual core) made for players with swing speeds under 90 miles per hour. It has the softest cover of the three golf balls and has a refined HEX pattern that optimizes low speed lift for more carry and distance. Basically, it is designed to keep the ball in the air longer for players with a slower swing speed.

The SR2 is a five piece golf ball (multilayer, urethane with a dual core and dual mantle) for swing speeds between 90 and 105 miles per hour. The fifth layer is meant to produce increased ball speeds and reduces spin off the driver for extra distance. The HEX pattern is also engineered to have the best balance of low drag at high speeds (at start of ball flight) and added lift at the end of flight as the ball is descending.

Lastly, the SR3, which also features five-piece construction, is a tour level ball for players who swing faster than 105 miles per hour. The SR3 ball is the one that Callaway expects most players on the PGA Tour to use next year and features the same concept as the SR2 with a HEX pattern to reduce drag at high speeds.

In short, the Speed Regime line of balls focuses on aerodynamics and flight rather than impact to help golfers of all skill levels and swing speeds achieve longer, more stable and penetrating ball flights. The Speed Regime balls will be available in January 24, 2014 with each model priced at $48 per dozen.
