Back during the Japan Golf Fair in February, Callaway Japan was promoting the new X Hot line of golf clubs, including the forged cup face fairway woods which they call the “300 yard spoon” for newly signed tour player, Ryo Ishikawa. This would be the X Hot fairway woods as we know it in North America. Callaway has fused their Forged Face Cup with the Speed Frame Face, allowing for increased ball speeds all across the face in a fairway wood that’s longer from everywhere. In Japan, Callaway offered up a challenge to their touring staff to see if they could hit this new 3-wood 300 yards or more! Above is Ishikawa’s challenge video, but make sure you check out the other players that participated too in the link below, including Alvaro Quiros!
