The Final Series for the European Tour (similar to the PGA Tour’s FedEx Cup Playoffs) starts this week at the BMW Masters at the Lake Malaren Golf Club in Shanghai. FedEx Cup champion Henrik Stenson, defending Race to Dubai champion Rory McIlroy, defending BMW Masters champion Peter Hanson and Chinese golf pro Wu Ashun were at the opening press conference as representatives of the 78 professionals taking part in this tournament. Similar to last year, many members of the 2012 European Ryder Cup team are in the field including Nicolas Colsaerts, Luke Donald, Peter Hanson, Martin Kaymer, Paul Lawrie, Graeme McDowell, Rory McIlroy, Francesco Molinari, Ian Poulter and Lee Westwood. Before the tournament gets started though, the representatives took part in pre-tournament festivities, including a “Star Players Challenge” at “The Bund Pudong” where the BMW i3 and i8, which were also present at the BMW Championship at Conway Farms Golf Club, were featured. The tournament gets underway tomorrow and we should be in for a great week of golf! Hopefully, Rory McIlroy’s game is taking a turn for the better, as he finished T2 last week at the Kolon Korea Open! Hear from Rory below about his thoughts on golf in China!
