We are officially in the week of the PGA Championship as players all converge to South Carolina, where the Ocean Course at Kiawah Island will play host to the year’s second major championship. The last time the PGA Championship was at Kiawah Island was in 2012, where a 23 year old Rory McIlroy ran away with the tournament as he secured an 8-shot victory.
After his victory at Quail Hallow in his last start, Rory will look to get back into the winner’s circle as he looks for his fifth career major title. This time around, the Ocean Course at Kiawah Island will play much longer at 7,876 yards, becoming the longest course in major championship history!
In the video above, Golf Digest and its Architecture Editor, Derek Duncan, takes us on a flyover tour of argubly Pete Dye’s most “Dye-abolical design.” Who do you think will come out on top on Sunday?
