Scotty Cameron is a brand that needs no introduction in the golfing world. Its world renowned putters are in the bags of golfers worldwide. To celebrate Titleist Brand Ambassador Justin Thomas’ success to date, Scotty Cameron is releasing a limited model of the 2017 PGA Champion’s Phantom X 5.5 putter.
This limited release of the Phantom X 5.5 putter was designed to the specifications of JT’s gamer that he used to win 12 of his 13 PGA Tour titles. Aside from the 2017 PGA Championship, this also includes his recent victory at the WGC-FedEx St.Jude Invitational. And who can forget his memorable putts at the 2019 Presidents Cup at Royal Melbourne in Australia?
The main feature of Justin Thomas’ putter is the combination of the “high-MOI wingback head style with a welded small slant neck that promotes an arced putting stroke more commonly associated with a blade.” The welded small slant neck is an unique neck configuration that enhances toe flow and is welded by hand on every putter.
Consistent sound and soft feel are achieved by using a block of solid 303 stainless steel in the putter’s construction however, 6061 aircraft aluminum sole plates are also used for superior weight distribution to increase MOI and stability. The putters will be crafted at 34.5 inches with 10-gram customizable stainless steel sole weights. Only a limited quantity of 2,020 JT’s Phantom X 5.5 putters will be constructed and they will be available in select Titleist golf shops worldwide on September 22, 2020.
