Golf has returned for a few weeks now and it’s definitely been an adjustment watching tournaments with no fans. We’re sure it’s been an even bigger adjustment playing in a tournament with no fans (or anybody screaming “mashed potatoes!”). Having said that, we’re finally getting a small taste of normalcy as professional sports slowly come back in this unprecedented time of COVID-19. This week, the PGA TOUR will be teeing it up at TPC Southwind in Memphis, TN, for the 2020 WGC FedEx St. Jude Invitational – the final tournament on the schedule before the season’s first Major Championship, the PGA Championship at TPC Harding Park in San Francisco, CA.
Since the return of golf, the biggest buzz around the sport has been Bryson DeChambeau and his new physique and approach to this game. He’s averaging 323.8 yards off the tee (1st) and routinely hitting drives close to, or over, 400 yards. Not only is he getting it done off the tee and hitting bombs, but he still has the finesse and feel around the greens to hit great wedge shots close to the pin and putt well. Since the restart of golf, he has finished T3, T6, T8, 1, MC in his last five starts.
With his consistent play, sportsbettingdime.com has his odds of winning this week at the WGC FedEx St. Jude Classic at +1400. Other players who have had success recently include Justin Thomas, who has finished 2nd and T18 in his last two tournaments and Jon Rahm, who won last week at The Memorial Tournament. Both players have +1200 odds for this week and could be great bets!
