Last week, Wilson Golf launched their new Staff Model and Staff Model High-Toe wedges in an announcement to end 2019. Wilson’s first announcement in the new decade is the launch of their new D7 Forged Irons. These irons combine the distance technologies from the original D7 line with the feel of a forged iron, offering golfers effortless distance and ultimate control.
The D7 Forged Irons has tour-preferred styling, which is achieved with a design of “minimal offset, a thinner topline, and an ideal choice of blade length and face height.” In addition to its aesthetics, these new irons features a soft 8620 carbon steel face. This allow golfers to attain the much coveted forged feel from the irons.
Despite the player-iron characteristics of the D7 Forged Irons, the irons are packed with technology that enhances forgiveness, such as the V-shaped cavity, and provide effortless distance. With a combination of a urethane Power Chamber and centered Power Holes in the sole of the clubs as well as a thin face and thicker sole, the D7 Forged Irons give golfers remarkable ball speeds, leading to maximum distance and shot-making launch angles and spin rates.
Pre-order for the Wilson D7 Forged Irons will be available on Wilson.com starting January 14, 2020. They will be available at golf retailers on January 21, 2020. MRSP of the irons will start at $999.99 USD and they will be available with Golf Pride’s Tour Velvet grip. Shaft options include the stock KBS $-Taper Lite steel shafts or True Temper Catalyst Black 80 graphite shafts.
