The innovation of Callaway Golf has seen the introduction of the Flash Face and the patented Jailbreak Technology in its products in recent years. Today, Callaway Golf announced their new line of hybrids, the Super Hybrid, which further demonstrates Callaway’s innovation as the new golf club delivers the power of a fairway wood in a hybrid profile!
To achieve greater power in the Super Hybrid, Callaway needed to increase ball speed and optimize the ball flight. This is accomplished by using high-strength titanium in the face insert. Jailbreak Technology is also once again utilized as “two internal Jailbreak Bars stiffen the stronger all-titanium body, placing more impact load on the Face Insert for amazingly fast ball speed.”
To optimize Centre of Gravity for launch and control, Callaway redistributes Metal Injection Molded (MIM’ed) tungsten weight inside the all-titanium body for a precisely placed CG. With an all-titanium body, this also allows Callaway to strength the construction while also producing a consistent launch. A OptiFit 3 Hosel will also be available for golfers to dial in their launch and optimized ball flight.
Controlled launch is also aided by a T2C Triaxial Carbon Crown, which now uses a new, lighter triaxial carbon fabric that enables a tighter weave. As opposed to using a traditional steel crown, the lighter weight from a carbon crown enabled Callaway to redistribute the weight within the head (mentioned in previous paragraph) for a controlled launch and to increase forgiveness by raising MOI for consistent distance on off-center hits.
You may pre-order your Super Hybrid now but it’ll be available at retailers on November 1st! As per Jonathan Wall of GOLF.com, the Super Hybrid will retails for $320 and will be available in three lofts (17, 20 and 23 degrees). It will also come with a premium stock shaft, the Mitsubishi Tensei CK Pro Orange 80 HYB graphite shaft.
