We’re in the final week of the 2018-19 PGA Tour season. With the Tour Championship upon us at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta, Georgia, we reminisce back to last year’s final tournament when Tiger Woods captured his 80th career PGA Tour victory. This was Tiger’s first victory after 1,876 days and in the eyes of many, this victory marked the completion of his comeback.
In the video above, the PGA Tour takes us back to the 2018 Tour Championship to relive the excitement of Tiger’s victory. Even on television, the atmosphere was electric and it was a fitting ending to a wonderful year in golf. Who knew that this would foreshadow what was to come in the first major of 2019, when Tiger captured his 15th major title at the Masters!
One can argue that Tiger’s season after the Masters was disappointing but at 43 years of age and a Masters Champion, most would consider the year a success. Tiger will now take a break before teeing it up in Japan at the end of October. Then his focus will be on the Presidents Cup, where he will captain Team USA (perhaps playing captain?) at the Royal Melbourne Golf Club against Team International.
