Rory McIlroy Wins 2019 RBC Canadian Open

Welcome to the Rory McIlroy show. After rounds of 6-under 64 and a final round of 9-under 61 on the weekend, Rory McIlroy is your new 2019 RBC Canadian Open champion. Rory was tied with Webb Simpson and Matt Kuchar in the beginning of the final round but he absolutely dusted them on his way to a seven-shot victory and a total of 22-under par for the tournament.

This is Rory’s sixteenth-career PGA Tour victory and his second victory of 2019, after winning at The Players in March. With the US Open at Pebble Beach coming up in a few days, this certainly bodes well for Rory as he carries great momentum into the season’s third major championship. The last time he won a tournament ahead of a major title victory was in 2014, when he won the WGC-Bridgestone before winning the PGA Championship.

Take a look at Rory’s final round scorecard as well as his highlights below. When he’s on, Rory makes the game look effortless with long drives and precision iron shots. Although we might guess he would want the US Open to start tomorrow, it sounds like Rory will soak in this victory with a few drinks first as he thinks he’ll probably be hung over tomorrow! After a performance like this, the celebration is well-deserved!
