This year, the US Open returns to Pebble Beach Golf Links, one of the world’s most famous golf courses. It last hosted the US Open in 2010 when Graeme McDowell came out on top. And of course, it was also the venue when Tiger Woods won in year 2000 by a record 15-strokes and ignited his run of the “Tiger Slam.”
As we look ahead to the 2019 US Open, there are no shortages of storylines. Tiger won his 15th major title at the Masters and has rekindled his chase to break Jack Nicklaus’ record of 18 major championships. Phil Mickelson is also looking to complete the career grand slam and having won there earlier this year at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, one would like his chances. And last but not least, there is Brooks Koepka, who has been on a superb run of dominance in major championships and will look to 3-peat at the US Open. Other players to look out for include Jordan Spieth, who seems to have found his game again, as well as Dustin Johnson, who nearly won here in 2010, Rory McIlroy and Rickie Fowler. Who’s your pick to to win the US Open this year? To get a better sense of each golfer’s chances of winning, there are odds for the US Open and it even compares this year’s golfers with previous winners.
The field will be deep at the US Open. There will be other young stars looking to make their mark and cement their legacy in golfing history. In the video above, USGA gives us an in-depth look at the challenges that players will face in the upcoming US Open at Pebble Beach (June 13-16).
