Cheng-Tsung Pan (better known as CT Pan) was the number one ranked amateur golfer in the world in 2013. Despite being one of the stars on the University of Washington Huskies Men’s golf team, nothing has come easy for the 27-year old Taiwanese player.
Pan attained his PGA Tour card after working his way up through the PGA Tour Canada and the Web.com Tour. It was only last month that CT Pan broke through for his first PGA Tour victory at the 2019 RBC Heritage. This past week, he posted another strong finish at the Charles Schwab Challenge as he tied for third, finishing at 8-under and five shots behind eventual winner, Kevin Na.

Pan’s strong performance recently has seen his world ranking rise to 47th in the OWGR and with him being inside the Top 50 in the world, he has now qualified for the 148th Open Championship at Royal Portrush in Northern Ireland! This has been quite the year for CT Pan, especially for a player who came from humble beginnings.
In the PGA Tour profile above, we take a look back at Pan’s roots and beginnings in his home country of Taiwan. We learn of his journey to play golf at the highest professional level as he overcomes obstacles to reach his goals and how he’s giving back to his community.
