This past weekend, world number one golfer in the world Justin Rose proved why he’s currently holding that spot. Heading into the final round of the Farmers Insurance Open, Rose had a 3-shot lead, sitting at 18-under par. That lead quickly evaporated as he bogeyed three of his first five holes.
But like all great players do, Rose righted the ship, making birdies on hole 7, 9 and 10 as he stretched his lead to four shots. From there, Rose was his usual steady self and despite Adam Scott’s best effort to mount a charge, Rose was able to claimed his 10th career PGA Tour victory by two shots at 21-under par.
Aside from tightening his grip on the number one spot, Justin also eased any concerns that his move to Honma from Taylormade would affect his game. As we all saw this past tournament, Rosey did just fine with his Honma clubs and with this victory, he has also become an early favourite at the 2019 Masters.
