The first tournament of 2019 wrapped up this past weekend and what a finish it was. In the final round of the Sentry Tournament of Champions, Xander Schauffele shot a 11-under 62 to chase down Gary Woodland and win the tournament by one shot. This marks Xander’s fourth career PGA Tour victory and as he put it, guarantees his return to Maui next January.
The PGA Tour will continue in Hawaii this week as the 54th Sony Open is held at Waialae Country Club in Honolulu. Notables in the field include Jordan Spieth, Adam Scott, Bubba Watson and defending Masters champion Patrick Reed. After the Sony Open, the tour will move on to the West Coast swing of the schedule where other PGA Tour stars will be making their season debut.
