Another calendar year of golf has come to a close as we near the end of 2018. As we review this past season, we saw two first-time major title winners as Patrick Reed won the Masters while Francesco Molinari won the Open Championship at Carnoustie. But it was Brooks Koepka who filled golf storylines as he repeated as US Open Champion and added his third major title at the PGA Championship.
Despite the coming out party for Brooks, we’d be remiss if we didn’t mention the resurrection of Tiger Woods. No one, not even Tiger himself, knew what to expect from his game at the beginning of the season as he made his comeback from fusion-back surgery. But it was soon apparent that this comeback was different as everyone could see signs that Tiger was pain-free for the first time in years and his game was trending the right way.
This all came to a pinnacle at the 2018 Tour Championship as he finally came out on top after a few near misses in this past season’s major championships.
