Player’s had one last shot to make it to the FedExCup Playoffs at the 2018 Wyndham Championship. It would be Brandt Snedeker that would steal the show though, leading wire-to-wire to claim his first PGA TOUR event this year and his 9th career win. This win was highlighted by an opening round of 59 – you can watch shot by shot his amazing round in the video below. This marks the second time he’s won the Wyndham Championship, the first being his first PGA Tour victory. Snedeker now is one victory away from double-digit PGA Tour wins. It is his first victory since the 2016 Farmers Insurance Open, and it moves him to 30th in the FedEx Cup standings, meaning he’ll now have a legitimate shot at winning the FedEx Cup for a second time, the first coming in 2012.
It wasn’t an easy final round though as C.T. Pan was right on Snedeker’s tail through 71 holes of the championship until an untimely drive on the 72nd hole went out of bounds and led to a double bogey. He was tied for the lead on the 72nd hole tee box, but this will definitely be a learning experience for Pan in the future, who had his wife on the bag throughout the week.
