We’re on the eve of the 118th US Open where the year’s second major championship will be played at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club in Southampton, N.Y. After Brooks Koepka’s triumph at Erin Hills last year, the US Open will return to a more familiar setting in one of the oldest formal organized golf club in the United States.
Shinnecock Hills last hosted the US Open in 2004 however, the major championship was infamous for some controversial tough conditions. With technology playing a big part in agronomy and alike, we are not likely to see a repeat of 2004. So far, many players have raved about what a challenge this links-style golf course will provide for golf’s ultimate test.
