We’ve featured the Callaway Mack Daddy 4 wedges a few months ago. The Mack Daddy 4 wedges come in either platinum chrome or matte black and it will offer 9 different lofts (from 46, 48, 50, 52, 54, 56, 58, 60 and 64) with 21 loft-bounce combinations. There will also be four different grinds available; C, S, W and the new X grind – offering golfers a weapon of choice for a variety of playing styles and course conditions.
The new feature of the Mack Daddy 4 wedges is the new proprietary Groove-in-Groove technology that’s “designed to maximize spin for aggressive shot-making and control.” This is achieved by constructing sock cut horizontal milled grooves with micro positive phase texture from the top to bottom of the clubface, which results in 84 contact points between the club and the golf ball. In addition, there’s a “Nip-It” groove near the leading edge that imparts extra spin for short pitches and chips.
In the video above, hear from legendary club maker, Roger Cleveland, as he sits down with Harry Arnett to discuss the specifics of Callaway’s MD4 wedges.
