Justin Rose Wins Fort Worth Invitational

Justin Rose captured his ninth PGA TOUR victory this past weekend with a three-shot win at the Fort Worth Invitational. Now ranked world number 3, Rose started the day with a four shot lead and shot a final round 6-under-par 64 for a total of 20-under-par and a three stroke victory over Brooks Koepka. This was one shot off the tournament record score of 21-under par set by Zach Johnson in 2010. This is Rose’s second win of the season, his first coming at the WGC-HSBC Champions, ironically, with Brooks Koepka as runner-up. These two US Open champions really battled it out over the week, but with this victory, Rose ties Nick Faldo for the most PGA Tour wins by an Englishman since World War Two. With the US Open in three weeks time, Rose might be a great pick to capture his second Major Championship.

Speaking of the US Open though, Brooks Koepka shot a final round 63 (his second of the tournament and third in five rounds) to put the most pressure on Rose. Although he was injured early in the season with a wrist injury, putting him out of action for months after surgery, he seems to be working himself back into top form and could be a major contender to defend his US Open trophy at Shinnecock Hills Golf Course.
