Rory McIlroy heads to Augusta National this week for the first Major Championship of the year. For the fourth year, he attempts to join Gene Sarazen, Ben Hogan, Gary Player, Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods as the only players to complete the career grand slam by winning a Green Jacket.
To prepare, Rory has played more golf leading up to The Masters than in previous years. This will be McIlroy’s ninth event of 2018, where in previous years, it may have been is sixth or seventh start of the year. He’s also made it a point to familiarize himself with Augusta National in recent weeks, playing 54 holes last week Wednesday and Thursday. In the video above, hear from Rory himself as he speaks to Mike Tirico about The Masters and what it would mean for him to complete the career grand slam.
