Justin Thomas Wins Honda Classic

The PGA TOUR started their Florida Swing in Palm Beach Gardens at PGA National Resort & Spa for the 2018 Honda Classic. Leading up to the tournament, all eyes were again on Tiger Woods, who was making his first back-to-back start on TOUR in over a year. Over the difficult Bear Trap, Tiger played the holes in 8-over par; for the rest of the course, he was 8-under par, finishing the tournament at even-par. Heading into the final round, he was only four-shots back and definitely put himself in a position to make a run on Sunday, but ultimately shot an even-par round to finish 7-shots back of eventual winner Justin Thomas.

Throughout the week, Tiger led the field in proximity to the hole at 29’3″ and was second in the whole field in drive distance at 318.9 yards! He had a few swings up at 127 to 128 mph, which is unreal for a 42-year-old Tiger Woods, who has come back from multiple injuries. His iron play was much improved and it looked like he was shaping shots both ways. It seems that he’s getting back into tournament shape and we can only hope that he will peak for April.

The Honda Classic - Final Round

Although most of the golf world focused on Tiger this week, Justin Thomas put together a solid week, picking up his second win of the season – it was also his seventh in the last two years and eighth of his career! After being tied with Luke List at 8-under-par, the two would go through one playoff hole before Thomas stuck a wedge close for a near tap-in birdie.
