We are only at the start of the 2017-2018 PGA Tour season but it’s never too early to look ahead at next year’s major championships. In 2018, the US Open will return to the historic Shinnecock Hills GC, in Southampton, Long Island, New York. This will be where Brooks Koepka will defend his title, after winning the 2017 US Open at Erin Hills.
Shinnecock Hills is a links-style golf course that was established in 1891. The last time it hosted the US Open was in 2004, when Retief Goosen won by two strokes over Phil Mickelson. In preparation for the 2018 major championship, Shinnecock Hills has undergone considerable changes. In the video above, Golfing World highlights these changes and takes us through the 2018 US Open venue.
