Now here’s a familiar headline! Jhonattan Vegas wins the 2017 RBC Canadian Open, successfully defending his title from last year – there’s something about Canada for Jhonattan! After starting the day three shots back of 54-hole leader Charley Hoffman, Vegas shot a final round 65, although he stumbled towards the end of his round. On the 18th tee, he carried a one-shot lead and piped a 388-yard drive – unfortunately, the drive rolled into the deep rough beside a pond. His approach bounced over the green. His chip for eagle went way long, then he missed a birdie putt that could have sealed the deal.
Hoffman came to the 18th green needing eagle to win outright – he would birdie and a playoff ensued. Vegas would eventually win his third PGA TOUR title – make sure to watch extended highlights of his final round in the video above! Next, the best players in the world prepare for the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational at Firestone Country Club!
