Michelle Wie is arguably the face of women’s golf. Labelled as a child prodigy, Michelle has been in the spotlight since she was 13 years old. The pressure to be the “next big thing” was immense and it has led to some challenging times in her life.
In this episode of Sitdowns with VICE Sports, we hear from Michelle as she talks about these challenges and how she has learned to live with a new refreshed outlook. It has led to her playing some of the best golf of her career. We caught a glimpse of her being “free” two years ago when she won the 2014 US Women’s Open at Pinehurst and when she played a significant role in the 2015 Solheim Cup.
Aside from golf, we also learn more about Michelle Wie than just her golfing career. For example, she tells us the weirdest part of being famous at 13, her love of listening to Migos on her off days, and her pride in being nerdy.
