In the first part of this month’s CNN Living Golf, we explored the future of golf in 2017. In the second part, Shane O’Donoghue visits the headquarters of the PGA Tour, TPC Sawgrass, which is also the host of golf’s unofficial Major, The PLAYERS Championship.
TPC Sawgrass opened in 1980 under the guidance of former PGA Tour Commissioner, Deane Beman. By partnering with legendary golf course architect Pete Dye, they created a masterpiece of a golf course. However, this past year, TPC Sawgrass went through a face-lift as the golf course needs to be modernized to today’s game. CNN Living Golf caught up with Matt Rapp, Executive Director of the PLAYERS Championship, to learn about these changes and why they were made.
