Henrik Stenson had the “best season of his career” last year by winning The Open Championship in an incredible duel with Phil Mickelson, winning a Silver medal at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games as well as winning the European Tour’s Race To Dubai. That’s quite the statement, given that he had a pretty amazing year in 2013 winning both the FedEx Cup and Race To Dubai in the same year.
It hasn’t always been such highs for the Swede though – he’s had quite the rollercoaster career. At one point, he dropped to World Number 621 from 73 at the beginning of his career. Ten years later, he would be ranked 4th in the world after his win at The Players Championship before dropping to 230th in the world and fighting back to have the success he’s had over the past couple of years. He’s currently ranked 4th in the world again.
In the video above, get to know Henrik Stenson as the European Tour goes through questions about superstitions, guilty pleasures, weirdest moments, his dream fourball, hobbies and more.
