Although a caddy may never hit a golf shot, many players will attest that their caddy is and has been instrumental in their success. For Player of the Year, Dustin Johnson, his caddy happens to be his brother as well, Austin Johnson.
Recently at the WGC-HSBC Champions at Sheshan International, Austin was awarded the HSBC’s Caddy of the Year award. In this feature, Anna Whiteley of Golfing World speaks with Austin about his relationship with his brother and the reigning US Open Champion.
Austin also tells us the story of how he got on Dustin’s bag in the first place. There has certainly been a lot of struggles over the years but after a season where Dustin captured his first Major title as well as the WGC-Bridgestone and the BMW Championship, the future is looking brighter than ever for the Johnsons.
