The first of four World Golf Championship events in the 2016-17 season takes place this week in Shanghai as the WGC-HSBC Champions return to Sheshan International Golf Club for the fourth consecutive year. 2015 WGC-HSBC Champion Russell Knox will have his hands full trying to defend his title as the tournament will boast a very strong field.
24 of the 30 TOUR Championship qualifiers last month will be playing in Shanghai. Among them are 2016 Player of the Year Dustin Johnson, 2016 FedEx Cup Champion Rory McIlroy and Adam Scott, who is a winner of two WGC events. With 550 FedEx Cup points on the line, players will be looking to get a good start to their season and an early jump on the standings.
