TaylorMade Golf: TP Putter Collection

When you think of TaylorMade Golf equipment, the first things that come to mind are probably drivers and fairway woods. They make arguably the best woods in the sport of golf, played by some of the longest hitters in the game in Jason Day and Dustin Johnson. But over the past couple of years, they’ve made some great equipment in irons, wedges and putters, particular the Itsy Bitsy Spider putter made for Jason Day. Today, they’ve announced their latest line of putters, the TP Putter Collection.

The TP Putter Collection features TaylorMade’s Pure Roll Insert. Played by Jason Day and Dustin Johnson, the Pure Roll insert combines 45-degree grooves with a softer polymer to increase topspin and improve forward roll across varying surfaces – helping the golf ball start and stay on its intended line. This line of putter is machine crafted and skim milled from 303 stainless steel with classically designed Tour-Proven shapes. Sole weights are used to enhance feel and stability, while strategically positioned sightlines help with more accurate alignment.

There are six styles offered in the TP Putter Collection. SOTO offers a blade-style putter with a classic and clean design. Utilizing short and rounded contours to provide a smooth appearance at address, Soto includes a single sightline on the back cavity to aid in alignment. With a slight toe hang, a full shaft offset, and two 10-gram weights in the sole, Soto is optimized for golfers who prefer to release the toe through impact.

The first TP putter put in play by Sergio Garcia, JUNO is a blade-style putter with exceptional feel. Shaped with squared and compact contours, Juno’s appearance mirrors its precise mechanical construction. A short, single sightline on top provides simple alignment, while two 10-gram weights in the sole aid in the putter’s overall stability. Juno also features a slight toe hang and a full shaft offset to fit the stroke of golfers who prefer to release the toe through impact.

MULLEN offers a mallet-style putter with a clean and compact shape. Combining feel-based elements of a blade with the performance of a mallet, Mullen provides the best of both worlds when you’re on the green. Featuring a slight toe hang, two 5-gram weights in the sole, and two sightlines on the back cavity, Mullen enables golfers who prefer to release the toe through impact to benefit from the added stability and alignment of a mallet design.

BERWICK is a face-balanced, mallet-style putter with a sleek and simple appearance. Machined to a precise, rounded shape, Berwick includes a single sightline on the back cavity and two 5-gram weights in the sole to aid in alignment and stability. Complete with a double-bend shaft and full shaft offset, Mullen fits golfers with a straight back, straight through putter stroke.

Arriving in 2017, ARDMORE and CHASKA add mid-size modern mallets to the TP Collection. The Ardmore features a deep cavity with dual sightlines to improve balance and alignment. It is 355 grams and cast from 303 stainless steel for a larger MOI. The shaft is a double bend with 3/4 offset, face balanced with 3.5 degrees loft. The Tour proven Chaska revisits the design of the original TaylorMade Corza Ghost with the familiar circular alignment aid in the back of the putter and three sightlines on top. The Chaska is also face balanced and has 3/4 shaft offset. Both mid-size mallets include the precise milling and Pure Roll insert associated with the TP Collection of putters.

Four of the six models; Juno, Soto, Mullen and Berwick are available at retail on December 1. The entire TP Collection is available in 33” (special order), 34” and 35” lengths. Each putter comes equipped stock with a Lamkin Sink Rubber grip at an MSRP of $199 USD with an optional upgraded Super Stroke 1.0 GT Pistol grip for $219 USD.
