Danny Lee has had a bit of a roller coaster career so far. After an impressive amateur career, in which Danny became the youngest ever winner of the U.S. Amateur at the time in August 2008, he struggled for a few years before gaining traction on the professional tour, winning the 2015 Greenbrier Classic.
Last season, Lee had eight top 10 finishes, a T2 finish in the TOUR Championship and finished 9th overall in the FedEx Cup rankings. It was definitely a break-out season and one that secured him a spot on the 2015 International Presidents Cup team that competed in South Korea.
Lee is definitely one of the more unique characters on the PGA Tour though. The balance he strikes between goofball and pro golfer can be attributed to his Swing Coach, Drew Steckel. While the two are barely able to make it through a game of air hockey without butting heads, their friction has resulted in a top 100 ranking. VICE Sports hung out with the unorthodox duo to see how their relationship informs Lee’s in-match performance. Make sure to watch VICE Sports hang out with Lydia Ko and Kevin Kisner too!
