Patrick Reed was on the bubble of the automatic spot’s at number 8 for the Ryder Cup Team USA heading into The Barclays last week. He cemented his place on the team with a win at Bethpage Black to jump to fourth in the overall standings. Currently, the US Ryder Cup team consists of Dustin Johnson, Jordan Spieth, Phil Mickelson, Patrick Reed, Jimmy Walker, Brooks Koepka, Brandt Snedeker and Zach Johnson. Captain Davis Love will make four captain’s picks in the coming weeks.
In the video above, Golfing World chats to Reed and looks back on his memorable first outing in the event at Gleneagles back in 2014 where he took the fight to Team Europe in dramatic fashion. He’ll be looking for “revenge” this year at Hazeltine against a Team Europe led by Captain Darren Clarke, which consists of Rory McIlroy, Danny Willett, Henrik Stenson, Chris Wood, Sergio Garcia, Justin Rose, Rafa Cabrera Bello, Andy Sullivan, Matt Fitzpatrick, Martin Kaymer, Thomas Pieters and Lee Westwood.
