In the first two parts of CNN Living Golf, we looked at some of the innovators of golf. From Bob Vokey to Tom Doak, these are two of the most established names in the sport. However, golf in the 21st century is constantly evolving and there are newcomers in the game who want to grab a share of the global golf market.
One of these newcomers is All Square Golf. Based in Luxembourg, All Square Golf is a specialized social media network for the golfing community. With over 60,000 users and 33,000 golf courses in it network, it’s essentially Facebook and Trip Advisor all rolled into one.
Although it’s open to users of all demographics, the platform is obviously more geared towards the younger generation. With the golf market constantly evolving and at a pace that’s faster than ever, hear from the founders of All Square Golf on what they have planned in hopes of unifying the golf market and allow golfers to connect with each other and share their passion for the game.
Another company hoping to bring technology to the sport of golf is Hawk-Eye Innovations, which had its start in cricket. By placing cameras all around the field of play, Hawk-Eye Innovations was able to create a 3D illustration of a ball’s trajectory. Their mission now is to expand this technology to other sports, including golf. The focus would likely be on the path of a putt however, there are many variables that must be considered.
