From golf equipment to apps for your smartphone, golfers nowadays have more access to information about their golf swings than ever before. One of the latest innovation in the game’s technological revolution is IOFIT, the first smart shoes for golf.
Proper balance and weight shift are critical to generate power and consistency in your golf swing. To date, there has been minimal methods to track and diagnose this data. That is until now. By utilizing extremely thin pressure sensors embedded in the outsole, the IOFIT smart shoe measures your balance and weight shift in real-time during your golf swing. The data is then transferred wirelessly to your smartphone via Bluetooth connectivity.
The IOFIT smart shoe is not all technology though. With help from a product designer from PING as well as other shoe manufacturers in South Korea, the IOFIT shoe was created to be durable, breathable, waterproof, and lightweight, all characteristics of a solid golf shoe!
The idea of a golf smart shoe is certainly a game-changer and in hopes of making it a reality, IOFIT has launched a Kickstarter campaign. So far, it has been quite successful and by early 2017, we may see the IOFIT golf shoe on a course near you.
