Golf is making it’s return to the 2016 Rio Olympics this week and for Team USA, they will be “Geared For More” with Adidas Golf. The men and women of the USA Golf team will wear adidas apparel designs and technologies including Climachill and Climacool, all made in California, which will be extremely beneficial while playing in the Rio heat.
Climachill is the pinnacle technology offering 360 degree cooling ventilation while Climacool technology offers zonal ventilation cooling. The men’s Sunday flag polo is a Climacool knit piece, the ventilation properties are knit into the actual fabric itself. The male competitors will wear the adidas Ultimate Pant, which features a stretch waistband with silicone gripper, moisture-wicking and water resistant stretch fabrication, and snag-free micromesh pockets.
Ladies will have a variety of apparel options to choose from; skorts, shorts, traditional and sleeveless polos and a dress. Depending on the ladies’ style preference, there are several different outfit options to ensure she is comfortable and stylish on the course. Ventilation is equally important in the women’s apparel. The material choice in one of the women’s pieces was inspired by Brazilian handmade lace but was treated it in an athletic way using a construction called mesh jacquard which delivers cooling comfort.
Brazil is known for the unique ways in which they utilize lace techniques. When designing the apparel, adidas Golf wanted to incorporate the spirit of their lace technique and infuse American symbols. Adidas Golf took a modern take on stars and stripes and incorporated it into the Brazilian lace construction. Apparel is on sale now at key retailers on and off course and on adidasGolf.com
