26-year-old Tony Finau is a rising star on the PGA Tour. Earlier this season, Tony won his first PGA Tour tournament at the Puerto Rico Open and one would bet that there are certainly more victories in his future. At 6’4″ and 200 lbs, Tony is your prototypical athlete in today’s game of golf. In fact, Tony could’ve played college basketball in the U.S. but instead, he chose to be a professional golfer.
Growing up in Salt Lake City, Utah, Tony Finau’s road to a professional golfer was not easy, with the weather being cold for more than six months a year. In the short interview above, CNN’s Patrick Snell sits down with Tony as he tells us of his humble beginnings and his journey to the PGA Tour.
